The River Talks: Restored Connection to a River in Recovery

  • Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve 3 Marina Drive Superior, WI, 54880 United States (map)

Join us on Wednesday, December 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lake Superior Estuarium for the December River Talk brought to you by the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve (LSNERR). St. Louis River Alliance Executive Director, Kris Eilers, will share about the river’s evolution.

From degradation to paddling destination, the St. Louis River Estuary is undergoing an inspiring transformation. Since the designation of the St. Louis River Estuary Area of Concern (AOC) in 1987, many partners have collaborated to clean up the river. The impact of this work is becoming clear, and the St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail is proof of that change. Come learn about improved access to the water and future goals for helping (re)connect the community to this beautiful waterway.

Get to know the river in your backyard! Join us at the River Talks- a free, informal speaker series at the Lake Superior Estuarium, 3 Marina Drive on Barkers Island in Superior, WI (it's the red building). The 2024-25 River Talk series runs from November through February on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm.
