St. Louis River Area of Concern Updates (Scanlon & Thomson Reservoirs)
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency announced cleanup options for the Scanlon and Thomson reservoir sites in the St. Louis River estuary. The public is encouraged to review and comment on the potential cleanup alternatives. The MPCA will consider all public comments, along with stakeholder input, in selecting the final cleanup remedy. Please submit written comments by 4:30 p.m. on August 31, 2020.
CANCELLED: 2020 SLRA Annual Fall Colors Train Ride Fundraiser
Due to COVID-19, we feel it is in the best interest of our staff, volunteers and supporters to cancel this years 2020 St. Louis River Alliance Annual Fall Colors Train Ride Fundraiser. We hope you find your own way to enjoy the fall colors of the Northland this year, staying safe and healthy as you do so. The Alliance is still collecting donations and memberships, we appreciate your support at any level! Other future events are still pending, please stay connected by following our Facebook page, or signing up for our eNewsletter for updates.
CANCELLED: 2020 SLRA Annual Canoe Trip
The St. Louis River Alliance is sad to share that the 2020 SLRA Annual Canoe Trip is cancelled. Due to COVID-19, we feel it is unsafe to gather 50-80 individuals at this time. We are hoping to create a virtual alternative, one that encourages folks to still get out and around the River.

April 2020 - $5,597.71 in donations awarded to SLRA from the Give Program at Whole Foods Co-op Duluth
The St. Louis River Alliance was the Give Recipient at the Duluth Whole Foods Co-op for the month of April 2020. Thank you to everyone who rounded-up at the register, providing us with $5,597.71 in donations. Your generous giving will help us continue our work of protecting, restoring and enhancing the St. Louis River Estuary!
Virtual SLRA Art Show
Since many of our St. Louis River Alliance events had been cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19, we decided it was a good idea to host a fun, casual Virtual SLRA Art Show to remind people of the beauty in our backyard. Here are photographs, paintings, and mixed-media works inspired by the St. Louis River, Lake Superior and the great Northwoods! Thank you to everyone who participated. The Virtual SLRA Art Show began on April 13th and went until the 22nd.
